Management change supports strategic course of Wafilin Systems

Leeuwarden, September 4, 2025 – Wafilin Systems today announces an important change in its management structure. Current CEO Henk Schonewille will take on the role of Commercial Director, focusing entirely on shaping and executing the company’s commercial strategy and driving international growth. Jos van Dalfsen, formerly Business Development Director, will assume the position of Managing Director.

This shift will enable Wafilin to seize market opportunities more effectively, expand into new international markets, and further strengthen its continuity and leadership in sustainable membrane solutions.

A management change with impact: customer-driven and international

With this new division of responsibilities, the management team can sharpen its focus on three core themes: expanding commercial activities, including services; accelerating international growth; and continuing to develop innovative, sustainable membrane technologies that make industrial production processes more efficient and environmentally friendly.

Jos van Dalfsen, recently appointed Managing Director, explains:

“For me, this new role is about further developing a strong and flexible organization that is future-ready. I want to ensure that we not only continue to innovate, but also deepen, expand, and professionalize our knowledge. That’s the foundation on which, together with our team and our customers, we can keep growing and making an impact.”

Henk Schonewille, in his new role as Commercial Director, adds:

“This step allows me to dedicate my full attention to building strong customer relationships and strategic partnerships. In this way, we can align our commercial direction even more closely with the ambitions of both our customers and Wafilin.”

With Jos van Dalfsen stepping in as the new Managing Director, a new generation takes the lead – one that knows the company and its culture from the inside out. His focus will be on strengthening the internal organization, optimizing processes, and future-proofing operations. At the same time, Henk Schonewille’s experience remains fully embedded: in his role as Commercial Director, he continues to build relationships and strategic opportunities. Together, they shape leadership based on trust, complementarity, and shared ambition.

Harry van Dalfsen, founder and member of the Advisory Board, states:

“I am extremely proud of this step. What started as an idea at the kitchen table has, under Henk’s leadership, grown into a strong and future-oriented organization with its own identity. It gives me great satisfaction to see the next generation continuing to build on our shared vision with the same passion and dedication.”

Innovation and professionalization as a foundation

This management change marks the culmination of a carefully considered strategy. In recent years, Wafilin has invested in rebranding, a new company headquarters, strengthening of the management team, and the establishment of an Advisory Board.
