New Board of Directors and Advisory Board for Wafilin Systems

LEEUWARDEN – Today it was announced that Jos van Dalfsen, together with Henk Schonewille, will form the new Board of Directors of Wafilin Systems. In the coming months, Harry van Dalfsen will hand-over his operational role to Jos and will take an advisory role in the company. Wafilin System also welcomes Erwin Dirkse as new shareholder and together with Harry van Dalfsen, he will take seat in the Advisory Board.

New director

Jos van Dalfsen is R&D Manager at Wafilin Systems since March 2018. In the past years, he has developed and proven himself enormously. Together with CEO Henk Schonewille and Technical Director Harry van Dalfsen, he has contributed to the company’s growth. Harry van Dalfsen is confident that Henk and Jos will continue on the right course: “In the phase we are in now, it is the right moment to transfer directorship of Wafilin Systems to Henk and Jos. I believe they are the persons who can further develop the company. As an advisor, I remain closely involved with the company”, says Harry.

Jos van Dalfsen is looking forward to this new challenge: “The past couple of years, we experienced strong development and growth. Developing unique applications that contribute to the optimization of and making the Food and Dairy industries more sustainable is incredibly inspiring. In my new role, I want to focus on continuing and rolling out our mission and strategy together with our team; that is a fantastic challenge”.

Unlocking huge growth potential

From the WaterCampus Leeuwarden, Wafilin Systems has developed itself throughout the years as one of the most important Dutch players in the field of innovative and sustainable membrane filtration solutions for the Food and Dairy industries. The company is about to enter a new phase: the realization of international ambitions, while it keeps investing in  developing new and innovative applications  with commercial value. For this reason, both Directors have further increased their shares in Wafilin Systems.

The current Board of Directors was also looking for an experienced partner with a track record in international and managerial experience, who can support the company and its Management in realizing its ambitions and rolling out its strategic course. They are very pleased with the fact that they have found this in the person of Erwin Dirkse. Erwin is non-executive director at Global Environmental Solutions and has years of experience as CEO, Managing Director with, among others, DMT Environmental Technology, and is a member of the Supervisory Board at the Water Alliance, the Advisory Board of Aquatech Global Events and Economic Board Noord Nederland.

Erwin Dirkse is eager to start: “I’m looking forward to this collaboration with Wafilin Systems and cannot wait to be part of an innovative and growing company that contributes to a better world. I see a lot of  perspective in the international expansion and will use my knowledge and experience, together with Harry, to support Henk and Jos”.

Advisory Board

Founder and majority shareholder Harry van Dalfsen will, together with Erwin Dirkse, take seat in the Advisory Board. This new corporate body for the company will provide support to the Managements in carrying out its vision on sustainable and circular entrepreneurship with demonstrable results. In addition, it  also acts as a sounding board and sparring partner for the Management.

CEO Henk Schonewille sees the changes as important milestones for the company and for himself: “We want to realize our growth ambitions without losing sight of our identity and core values. Erwin understands this as no other and is a perfect fit for our company, as a person, a partner and an advisor”.
